Advertisement for JRF and Laboratory Assistant position in DBT Sponsored Major Research Project

This is to advertise for one (01) JRF and one (01) Laboratory Assistant post under the DBT sponsored Major Research Project entitled "Population structure of Gaur (Bos gaurus gaur) from MTR, Maharashtra" in the Department of Zoology. Govt. Vidarbha Institute of Science and Humanities, Amravati The JRF will mostly work on non-invasive conservation genetics techniques with Bioinformatics Tools to decipher the population genetic structure of gaur (Bos gaurus gaurus) in Melghat Tiger Reserve (MTR).
Competent candidates with research background in Zoology and good working knowledge of non-invasive conservation genetics tools and techniques are requested to mail their application with a self attested photograph and their CV (mentioning their academic details, past experience related to research), to mumtazbaig@gmail com on or before 23 July, 2014.
Priority will be given to the candidates who are extremely sincere, hardworking and committed to research work. The DBT norms will be followed for the selection process.

• Date of Interview: 24th July, 2014

• Emolument: JRF Rs. 16,000/- + HRA for the 1st two years and Rs. 18,000/- + HRA for the 3rd year for SRF and applicable only if JRF/ SRF is NET/GATE/BET/BINC qualified. Otherwise it shall Rs. 12,000/- + HRA only for the 1st two years for JRF and Rs 14,000/- + HRA for the 3rd year for SRF For Laboratory Assistant. Rs 6000/- (Fixed) per month for 3 years.
• Essential Qualification for JRF: 1st class in M.Sc. Zoology.
• Desirable: Candidate should have good knowledge of noninvasive molecular techniques & have a skilful hands on bioin-formatic tools related to sequence analysis & population genetics.
• For Laboratory Assistant: HSC Passed with experience of working of basic laboratory techniques.

Candidates have to attend a formal interview at Department of Zoology. GVISH. Amravati on dated 24/07/2014 at sharp 2 pm.

NOTE: No TA or DA will be given. All necessary documents will be verified then. Both positions are purely temporary and will automatically ends with the finish of the project after three years.
