Vyapam Scam, Madhya Pradesh 2015
BUCKLING under mounting pressure, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has written a letter to High Court, recommending CBI investigation into the multilayered Vyapam scam and deaths associated with it.
While interacting with media-persons at Mantralaya on Tuesday afternoon, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that he could not sleep for the whole night due to the atmosphere that had been created regarding Vyapam and the death cases.
Hence, he had decided to write a letter to High Court, requesting for CBI probe into the Vyapam and death cases. Though he had great respect for judiciary and has faith in STF which is probing the scam.
However, Congress wants CBI probe under the monitoring of Supreme Court and in support of demand, it is going to observe Madhya Pradesh 'Bandh' on July 16.
Coming down heavily on Opposition, Chouhan claimed that his entire life had been transparent and he is passionate for development of State. However, Opposition targeted him on baseless charges and Congress has nothing to do with the deaths, its only aim is to besiege Shivraj.
"I want to say that Loktantra is run by Lok Laaj and questions that surfaced last days, especially those which have been raised outside the State, need solution. Hence, he decided to go for CBI probe," added Chouhan.
Telling that it was he who ordered investigation when irregularities came to fore in PMT and tried to make a system for transparent recruitment. And when matter reached High Court, State role comes to end automatically.
When asked that whether he had spoken to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his decision for CBI probe into the multilayered scam? He answered 'no'. Training guns on Opposition, he said it is trying to create an atmosphere of confusion. Answering a call on question that even Uma Bharti had also indicated for CBI probe into the scam, he said that he respect Uma Bharti a lot and consider her as sister. She had spoken her inner voice. When she was not in party at that time also he had not uttered even a single word against her.
"We have filed a plea in the High Court seeking a CBI probe into the Vyapam scam," Additional Advocate General P Kaurav said.
